The In Memoriam quest is one of the initial side missions you’ll unlock when Dock Town becomes accessible. Here’s a walkthrough to help you complete the quest and gain faction strength with the Shadow Dragons in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
Starting Location for In Memoriam
Once Dock Town is open, a quest marker will appear on the map. Head to this location and interact with a corpse to initiate a battle against some demons. After dealing with them, speak to the spirit that appears next to the body to officially start the quest. You’ll need to track down two additional victims and uncover the circumstances surrounding each death.
For the first body, follow the red bloodstains leading up a staircase. At the top, continue following the trail into a small building. Once you interact with the object inside, you’ll resolve the mystery of this first death. Return south past the initial body, take the first left, and continue beyond the market to find the second victim.
Interacting with the second body will trigger another demon battle. Once you’ve defeated them, talk to the spirit again and follow the blood trail to a nearby ladder. Climb up and read each note along the way. At the top, a final note will lead to another interaction with the spirit, progressing the quest further.
Locating the Third Victim
To find the third body, head back to where you located the first. Move through the large doors to enter an area that may feel familiar from an earlier main story quest in Dock Town. Ascend the wide staircase and exit through the back door of the building. You might encounter an ambush on the stairs. Outside, the third body will be on your right; approaching it will trigger another demon attack.
After handling the demons, speak to the spirit and follow the blood trail once again, this time behind the building. Read the two notes scattered along the path to complete the quest.
Rewards
Completing In Memoriam grants you several rewards: an increase in bond with your current party members, 200 Gold, five Fade-Touched Crystals, and 100 Shadow Dragons Strength.
