In Metaphor: ReFantazio, you’ll encounter several locked doors within the Mausoleum area of the Grand Cathedral dungeon on your initial journey. As the story progresses, specific quests will bring you back to explore the Mausoleum further. Upon reaching the dungeon’s end, you’ll face its boss, Kadablich.
Kadablich Boss Attacks
- Curse Chant: Attempts to inflict Hex on your entire party, which increases vulnerability to Dark attacks and reflects half the damage dealt to enemies back on you.
- Mamudo: A weak Dark magic attack affecting all characters.
- Mudoon: A stronger Dark magic attack targeting a single character.
- Life Steal: Drains health from one character, restoring Kadablich’s HP.
Strategy of Kadablich Boss in Metaphor: ReFantazio
Kadablich Boss begins the fight accompanied by three skeletons, each at level 19 with identical resistances and weaknesses. Avoid using Lightning on them; instead, focus on Strike and Light attacks, which are also effective against Kadablich. It’s crucial not to use physical attacks on Kadablich, as they’ll be repelled, dealing damage back to your characters and ending your turn prematurely.
Start by eliminating the skeletons, as they’re relatively easy to defeat. Once they’re gone, Kadablich will only take one action per turn, unless it exploits a character’s weakness to Dark. Curse Chant is the biggest threat in this fight, as it often casts Hex, making you more vulnerable to Dark damage and reflecting half your attacks’ damage back on you. Heal Hex as soon as possible to avoid its negative effects.
Kadablich Boss Dark magic attacks don’t inflict significant damage individually, and Life Steal, though bothersome, isn’t used frequently enough to be a major issue. Using Light attacks is ideal here, as they grant extra turn icons, while physical attacks are ineffective. With these tactics, you’ll be well-prepared to defeat Kadablich and clear the Mausoleum.
