As you expose the true mastermind behind the Martira kidnappings, your journey pulls you deeper into the ominous halls of Kriegante Castle. In the shadows of the dungeon, fleeting glimpses of a massive figure hint at the sinister force controlled by the culprit. Finally, at the castle’s end, all is revealed, and you face the ultimate challenge: defeat Homo Jaluzo Boss in Metaphor: ReFantazio.
Homo Jaluzo’s Attacks in Metaphor: ReFantazio
The fight with Homo Jaluzo begins fairly straightforward, but as it progresses, the boss gains access to new attacks once the eyes become targetable:
- Eager Bite: A physical strike aimed at one character.
- Deafening Din: Deals moderate damage to the whole party and reduces defense.
- Jumping Playtime: After gathering power, Jaluzo will deal significant damage to all party members; guard when you see the boss preparing this move.
- Stare: This starts when the eyes are available to target. It doesn’t deal damage but inflicts Daze, affecting hit rates.
- Tackle: A single-target physical attack.
- Focused Aim: The boss “observes the whole battlefield,” though the effect isn’t entirely clear, potentially signaling focus on a single character.
- Mother’s Love: When health is low, Jaluzo performs a one-time heal that restores around 2,400 health and revives both eyes.
Strategy for Defeating Homo Jaluzo
This boss has no specific resistances or weaknesses, so feel free to use any type of attack. Initially, you can only target Jaluzo’s main body, but eventually, both eyes become targets and are vulnerable to Pierce attacks. This is your chance to gain additional actions each turn.
Watch out for Focused Aim, as it may indicate the boss will concentrate attacks on a single character as long as the eyes remain active. Destroying both eyes might also increase the randomness of attacks, allowing them to come from any direction.
The boss’s main single-target attacks are Eager Bite and Tackle, which deal moderate damage. Meanwhile, Deafening Din can be particularly troublesome as it reduces party defense. If Jaluzo uses Jumping Playtime with both eyes intact, brace for a heavy-hitting move that affects everyone.
Keep an eye on the Stare attack, as it can Daze characters, significantly lowering their accuracy. Remove this status as soon as possible to keep up the pressure on the boss. Destroying the eyes appears to stop this move, so if it’s a problem, eliminate them quickly.
As the fight nears its end, Jaluzo will use Mother’s Love to heal itself and regenerate both eyes, restoring 2,400 HP. Other than this, the rest of the battle remains consistent, so continue your strategy until Jaluzo is finally defeated.
For your victory, you’ll receive Jaluzo’s Baby Clothes—an item to sell at any shop. Completing this quest also allows you to decide what to do with the bounty reward; if you choose to donate it to the bereaved families, you’ll receive a Courage increase as part of the reward. Additionally, you’ll reach Rank 3 in Gallica’s Bond, unlocking the Wizard Archetype and revealing more enemy skills in Squad Battles.
After handling this quest, you may still have time before heading to your next destination, Port Brilehaven, to continue your journey.
