The At Your Own Risk achievement might sound misleading, as its description suggests taking on the test of courage at the highest difficulty. This might make you think you need to play on the hardest difficulty, which only unlocks in New Game+. However, it’s simpler than that—you just need to perform a specific action three times in one of the game’s towns.
Unlocking the At Your Own Risk Achievement in Metaphor: ReFantazio
To pursue this trophy/achievement, progress through the main story until you reach the second town, Martira. Once there, during your free time, head to Thoroughfare Square and look for a Royal Virtue activity that boosts Courage. This activity is located near the stairs on the northern side of the square. It’s recommended to save before attempting this, as Courage is one of the easier virtues to max out. After unlocking the trophy/achievement, you can reload to conserve your time.
In Metaphor, time is valuable, and it's best not to spend it on tasks that aren’t essential. To start, talk to the nearby NPC and pay them to participate in the bungee jump. You can’t fail the jump, and besides gaining a Courage boost, you’ll also earn a Foreign Coin for impressing the NPC. The fee increases slightly with each jump, but it’s only a minor inconvenience.
You’ll need to complete the bungee jump three times to unlock the trophy/achievement. If preferred, you can do this in three consecutive time slots to achieve it as quickly as possible.
