Shaquille O’Neal May Be Coming to Fortnite game
Fortnite has slowly evolved into a massive crossover platform, featuring collaborations with major franchises like Pixar, Marvel, and popular anime, as well as appearances by real-world celebrities such as Will Smith, Eminem, and Lady Gaga. Now, according to leaks, Shaquille O'Neal is the latest star to join the Fortnite universe. Renowned Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR has revealed that Epic Games has partnered with Shaq to release cosmetics based on the basketball and entertainment icon on October 4.
Shaq, also known by his DJ alias "DJ Diesel," teased this potential collaboration in a TikTok video posted Monday night. In the video, during his performance, screens briefly displayed what appeared to be a glimpse of Shaq’s Fortnite in-game character model (warning for those with photosensitivity).
"Toronto... last night was EPIC ;)," Shaq wrote in the caption, making a playful nod toward Epic Games, the developers of Fortnite.
This reveal is just the beginning, as Fortnite’s annual Halloween event, Fortnitemare, is also set to bring other characters into the game. According to ShiinaBR, horror icons like Billy the Puppet from the Saw series, Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and a spooky version of DJ Marshmello are also on the way.
While Epic Games has previously created skins for NBA teams and individual players, including the full roster of all 30 NBA teams in 2022, this marks the first time the star of Shaq-Fu is officially entering the Fortnite arena.
