Fortnite Battle Pass Price Increase Announced
Starting December 1, 2024, the cost of the Fortnite Battle Pass will rise to 1,000 V-Bucks, marking the first increase from its long-standing 950 V-Bucks price. This adjustment begins with the Chapter 6 Battle Pass. Previously, players could earn back their V-Bucks by leveling up to 100 in a season. However, changes like reduced quests, fewer XP opportunities, and the shift of V-Buck rewards to higher tiers have made this more challenging over time.
Players can still purchase V-Bucks through Starter Packs, bundles, or Quest Packs, though price hikes in 2023 and 2024 have made this pricier for many. Save the World Founders remain the only group with access to free V-Bucks, but Epic Games has limited their earnings by removing features like login rewards and the Collection Book.
Additionally, Fortnite Crew subscribers will face a new policy: rewards will only unlock while the subscription remains active. This means players can no longer claim Battle Pass rewards permanently upon subscribing—they’ll need to stay subscribed to access all perks.
When Do These Changes Take Effect?

The adjustments coincide with the conclusion of Fortnite Remix on November 30, 2024, and the launch of Chapter 6 on December 1. While the Battle Royale mode’s Battle Pass is the only one affected by the price increase, Fortnite Crew members will gain access to other upcoming passes, such as the Music Pass, LEGO Pass, and a rumored Fortnite OG Pass.
These changes aim to encourage consistent engagement and long-term subscriptions, making strategic timing crucial for unlocking all rewards.
