How to Obtain the Rifle in Silent Hill 2
The Rifle is secured inside a cabinet located in the Armory on the first floor (1F) of the Main Section of the prison. You’ll encounter it shortly after entering the area. To get the Rifle, you'll need to complete several tasks in this section of the prison.
First, you must solve the Scales Puzzle in the Yard by correctly placing the weights. This will unlock the Headless Serpent Door, granting you access to the cell block. At the end of this area, you’ll face the Witness Room Generator Puzzle, which you need to solve to activate the prison’s lockdown.
Once the lockdown is triggered, head to the Death Chamber and collect the Medium Weight from the chair. Return to the main cell block area, and in Cell E10, you’ll find a narrow gap in the right-hand wall. Squeeze through to reach a room where the Armory Key is located.
Now, backtrack to the Main Section on the first floor (1F) and use the Armory Key to unlock the cabinet and finally claim the Hunting Rifle.
