Elden Ring: Nightreign’s First Network Test Off to a Rocky Start
The much-anticipated Elden Ring: Nightreign network test has hit a major snag, leaving eager players frustrated. This three-player co-op roguelite spin-off was set to kick off its first round of testing today, but technical issues have derailed the experience.
FromSoftware originally scheduled three-hour testing sessions, allowing registered players to get an early taste of the game. However, for those lucky enough (or unlucky, in this case) to land a spot in the February 14, 6 a.m. session, the only thing they got to experience was server crashes.

FromSoft quickly acknowledged the issues, posting on their Player Support X account:
“We are currently restarting the Elden Ring Nightreign game server. We will provide an update once the restart is complete. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.”
Unfortunately, after multiple failed attempts, the team decided to abandon the session entirely and focus on fixing the network infrastructure. Reports suggest the servers were simply overwhelmed, proving that the test is doing exactly what it's meant to—stress-testing the system.
Players initially tried to rejoin to Elden Ring: Nightreign as directed, but within 20 minutes, a new message instructed them to log out, reassuring them that there would be no penalties for doing so. The latest update confirmed that today’s network test will still end at 11 p.m. JST, but additional sessions may be scheduled later.

What’s Next for Elden Ring: Nightreign?
Nightreign is designed to reimagine Elden Ring as a roguelite, throwing players into randomized battles across the Lands Between. But today, the toughest enemy wasn’t Malenia or Radagon—it was the game’s main menu.
The next test is set for 10 p.m. ET tonight, giving FromSoft time to tweak servers and resolve issues before the next wave of players jumps in. And while these issues are frustrating, this is exactly why network tests exist—to fix problems before launch.
For now, Elden Ring: Nightreign fans can only hope the next session goes smoother. Stay tuned for updates on GGGAMER!
