Dragon Ball Fans Make Chi-Chi Playable in Sparking Zero
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero features one of the most extensive character rosters in the franchise, and now fans can add another iconic name to the list: Chi-Chi in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero. While the game already includes various versions of Goku and other lesser-known characters, many fans have long called for Chi-Chi and Bulma to become playable. Finally, a creative modder has made it possible to play as Chi-Chi—though she's using Goku's moveset for now.

Chi-Chi Takes Charge in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero
If you’ve ever watched Dragon Ball Z or Dragon Ball Super, you know Chi-Chi is not someone to be trifled with. Even the strongest fighters in the universe have a healthy fear of her, and for good reason. While Chi-Chi doesn’t usually step into battle, she’s no stranger to martial arts and has a commanding presence that can intimidate almost anyone.
Shared on Twitter by @DBSparkingNews, via @ignantedits, a viral video showcases Chi-Chi obliterating Fused Zamasu in a battle. However, fans immediately noticed that Chi-Chi was performing Goku’s moves, and it became clear when Goku’s voice yelled “Kamehameha” instead of hers. Rest assured, the modder will likely address the voice mismatch soon.
We’ve only seen Chi-Chi truly fight in the original Dragon Ball series, where she faces Goku in a tournament. But fans have long been entertained by her no-nonsense attitude, especially toward Goku himself. This mod, which allows Chi-Chi to perform Goku’s Saiyan abilities, has sparked laughter among fans. Many speculate that if Chi-Chi had the same powers as Goku, Earth would have gained another formidable protector.
Fans have enjoyed seeing Chi-Chi take on the role of the brawler instead of the usual Saiyan characters, with some even joking that this version of Chi-Chi is "lore accurate." Perhaps with further refinements, we might see a fully fleshed-out version of Chi-Chi as a playable character. And if that happens, characters like Cell are in for serious trouble.

While mods like these are well-received by the community, there have been reports of other mods being used to cheat in ranked matches. One player shared a video on Reddit showing their opponent spamming special attacks with seemingly unlimited Ki. Upon further investigation, it appears that several mods are circulating that allow for buffs in online ranked matches. It’s likely that Nexus Mods and Spike Chunsoft will take action soon, but for now, players are advised to stay vigilant.
