Ciri’s New Look from The Witcher 4 is Already Playable in The Witcher 3
One of the standout moments from The Game Awards was the unveiling of The Witcher 4 teaser trailer. Fans were thrilled to learn that Ciri will take center stage in CD Projekt Red’s highly anticipated sequel. While it might be a while before we get to play as the older, more mature version of Ciri in a brand-new adventure, a creative modder has already brought her updated look to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Just six days after the trailer debuted, a talented modder known as Forlornsito crafted an impressive mod that introduces Ciri’s grown-up, mutated appearance to The Witcher 3. The mod caught the attention of none other than The Witcher 4 director, Sebastian Kalemba, who shared a link to the mod on Nexus Mods, encouraging fans to download it and experience the reimagined Ciri in the beloved older game.
Bringing The Witcher 4’s Ciri to The Witcher 3
The mod replaces Ciri’s model in The Witcher 3 with a detailed recreation of her appearance from The Witcher 4’s teaser trailer. Forlornsito has done an impressive job, even managing to upscale the eye design directly from the trailer for added authenticity. While the outfit isn’t an exact replica of what we’ve seen in the upcoming game, it’s remarkably close—so much so that you likely wouldn’t notice the differences unless pointed out.
Although the mod is well-polished, the creator has noted minor clipping issues between Ciri’s hood and chainmail. Other than that, the mod works seamlessly, altering her appearance during the missions where players control Ciri, as well as in scenes where Geralt interacts with her throughout the game.
Overwhelming Support (and Some Predictable Criticism)
The mod has already garnered significant attention, with over 1,000 downloads in just a few days. Its popularity highlights the excitement surrounding The Witcher 4 and Ciri’s new design. Having the endorsement of Kalemba, one of the key figures behind the series, further solidifies the mod’s appeal.
As is often the case, a vocal minority has surfaced online to critique Ciri’s updated appearance, but their opinions seem to hold little weight against the widespread enthusiasm. The overwhelmingly positive reception of the mod underscores how eager fans are to see this next chapter for Ciri, even if it’s still years away.
