The Warden Vault Quest, Starting the Warden Vault
Begin at the Beacon near the fort entrance and proceed through the right entryway. Take the first left, followed by another left, leading you to an open room. Behind several barrels, you’ll find three unlit braziers. Ignite them in a specific order:
first the right, then the left, and finally the middle brazier. This sequence should open the pathway to the next area. Leave the room and head upstairs to the south. As you ascend, enter the fort’s main structure, where you’ll spot a lever directly across from you. If the braziers have been lit correctly, pulling the lever will open a door nearby. Inside, you’ll find a chest and a lever hidden under a shield, marking the start of the Warden Vault quest.
Exit the room and take the ladder down to the first level, where an Antaam enemy awaits. Defeat them and continue following the quest marker, eventually locating a skeleton skewered by a sword. Interact with it to summon a ghost that slips through a wall. Retrace your steps to the ladder, head up, and proceed towards the courtyard entrance. Before descending the stairs, look to your left to activate another skeleton.
Tracking the Ghost and Accessing the Vault
Descend the stairs, following the familiar path back to the main area with the fast-travel Beacon. Just before reaching it, you’ll encounter the ghost once more. Interact with it, then re-enter the fort to find an ominous green light in the back room. Approach the ghost one last time, which will open a door and unlock access to the second Vault lock.
Now, follow the third quest marker deeper into the fort. Upon entering the large rear courtyard, turn right to find a barrel on a ledge. Use Taash’s special ability to destroy it, lowering a ladder. Return to the fort and take the next left, using Taash’s fire-breathing skills to melt through a cluster of crystals. Climb the ladder outside to grab a wisp, then quickly backtrack past the melted crystals to activate the skeleton, unlocking a hidden room containing the final lock.
Reaching the Warden Vault
Head back to the fort entrance and locate a stairwell on the western side of the room. Descend to find another crystal formation that Taash can burn, unveiling the Vault door and revealing three large chests. Opening the Vault not only grants valuable rewards but also strengthens bonds with your party.
Inside the chests, you’ll discover randomized loot that typically includes a unique ring, class-specific armor, and an armor piece for Taash. The unique ring changes based on your character class; for instance, you might receive the Serpent’s Kiss or the Crookytail’s Crest on different playthroughs.
