Finding the Best Way to Farm in Helldivers 2
Do you want to know the Best way to farm in Helldivers 2? Alright, everyone, let's dive into it: Super Credits, Samples, and Medals. The cost for everything in this game is just ridiculously high and keeps going up! With all the new insane gear they keep adding to the Super Store each war, you need more Super Credits than ever before.
But by the end of this, you’ll have the skills to become the super-efficient farming goblin you were always meant to be.
The Undisputed King: Tier 1 Missions
So, after retesting absolutely everything, the Best Way to Farm in Helldivers 2 Super Credits is still, without a doubt, on Tier 1 difficulty. The reason is all about how Points of Interest (POIs) get allocated on those small maps. There are also almost no enemies to fight, so it's always just an in-and-out easy mode run. Since our last update, there have been some pretty drastic changes, and now we're prioritizing specific POIs on planets that are more likely to spawn them, like Buddy Bunkers and double doors.
On average, we were getting about eight to ten POIs per mission on Tier 1. When we tried testing on Tier 2 to Tier 5, the maps just started getting too big and the travel time wasn't worth it. In some cases, we even found fewer POIs because enemy bases were eating up their spawn spots, making everything take longer than it needed to. We don't want to be doing this mindless farm any longer than we have to!
Choosing the Perfect Planet to Farm in Helldivers 2
You're looking for maps that have as much open space as possible. Make sure you avoid anything with too many mountains, water, or dead zones, because they can prevent POIs from spawning at all. Due to how the galactic war works, sometimes these small town maps are your best option, but you just want to stay on the outskirts and never go deep inside to save precious time.
Your Farming Strategy In-Mission
Drop in with a four-man squad to save the most time. Just split up into two groups going in opposite directions to quickly loot everything you see. If you have a passenger in your vehicle, they can just quickly hop out, grab the loot, and use their minimap to hover over the area you're heading. It will pick up on POIs you can mark so your driver knows where to go, saving even more time. You're looking for the white dove icon, which means it has loot. After you're done, the icon turns grey, showing that it's empty.
On average, a run took us about two minutes for an average of forty Super Credits. I highly recommend doing this in a pre-made group because it's exponentially faster and way more efficient than having to random queue. With a good group, we were getting like eleven hundred credits per hour, including load screens between games. This is also a really solid farm for Medals and early Requisition Slips, so keep that in mind.
A Quick Note on Buddy Bunkers
You can pay 580 Medals to unlock the Bunker Buster stratagem, but most people who need to farm won't have that. You can actually just hop inside them for free by backing up an APC or tank to the door! It's more efficient to just abandon the mission to get back to your Super Destroyer faster. I don't think it's ever worth taking an extra two minutes to complete the Tier 1 mission objective.
Efficient Sample Farming
For samples, which are super important for ship modules, you'll need a bunch. The best way to farm common (green) samples is the "ICBM: Eradicate Automaton Strider Nests" mission that looks like broccoli on the map. Not to be confused with the destroy fuel silos mission! Each nest has about ten green samples around it on the highest difficulty. You can run around in a circle and snap them all up for about fifty greens and ten oranges in five minutes with almost zero effort.
For rare (pink) samples, you wanna do Difficulty 7-9 Blitz missions. The difference in total samples between 9 and 10 isn't worth the extra hassle. A good Blitz run can net you about ten pink samples in ten minutes.
A small Helldivers 2 tip: don't go for every single sample on the map. Just get most of them and dive into the next mission. Remember, any sample picked up is shared with the whole team, but you MUST extract with them to keep them! Protect the sample carrier at all costs.
The most important thing is to have fun with it. Good fundamentals make the game way more enjoyable, and if you're enjoying yourself, the sample grind will be over before you know it.
