Step 1: Fast Travel to Beldaburo After the Sewer Escape
Once you’re out of the Imperial Prison Sewer in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, fast travel to the Imperial City Waterfront (south-southwest side). From there, travel across the lake to reach the Beldaburo Ayleid Ruins—it’s just a short walk west over a small bridge. This dungeon holds the key to getting the best weapon & heavy armor in Oblivion Remastered early, so let’s dive in!
Step 2: Navigate Beldaburo’s Traps Carefully
Inside Beldaburo, watch out for spike pits and poison gas traps—they’ll mess you up if you’re not careful! Fight your way through the dungeon until you reach Umbra, an NPC waiting at the end. Heads up: Umbra isn’t hostile at first and is tied to a quest with unique dialogue about her backstory. If you want that lore, hold off on fighting her until you’ve heard her out—otherwise, you’ll miss it when you snag the best weapon & heavy armor in Oblivion Remastered.
Method 1: Defeat Umbra at Level 1 (Low Difficulty Option)
Method 2: Use Imperial City Guards for Extra Loot (Any Difficulty)
For a trickier but rewarding method to get the best weapon & heavy armor in Oblivion Remastered, kite Umbra out of Beldaburo! Start combat with a ranged attack, then lead her out of the dungeon (dodge those traps again!).
Pull her north and east to the western entrance of the Imperial City. The guards will jump in to fight her—but be careful: if Umbra turns non-hostile inside city limits, attack her just outside that trigger zone to keep her hostile. Once the guards take her down, you can loot her body without lifting a finger. This works on any difficulty and might net you extra loot like silver arrows from the guards!
Loot Umbra & Claim Your Prize
Once Umbra is down, loot her for the Amber Sword, Ember’s Ebony Armor set, and her shield—some of the best weapon & heavy armor in Oblivion Remastered! The armor might be heavily damaged if the guards fought her, but it’s still awesome. If any guards died, you can loot them for sellable gear, plus grab silver arrows (the best ammo early on). Save often during this process—Umbra might accidentally kill an important NPC, and you don’t wanna mess up your game! Now go rock that gear in Cyrodiil!
