Unlock & Craft A Storage Crate in RuneScape Dragonwilds early on to keep your precious loot safe! Whether you're hoarding meat, rare ores, or crafting materials, running around with everything in your pockets is just asking for trouble—especially when high-level enemies are lurking. Let’s break down how to build your first Storage Crate and how to level up your stash game.
How to Unlock the Storage Crate
After completing the tutorial in RuneScape Dragonwilds, you'll automatically unlock the blueprint for the Storage Crate. It's one of the first structures available once you start gathering Ash Logs and set up your Crafting Station.

Collecting and crafting will raise your Construction XP, and bam—you’ll see the Storage Crate pop up in your build menu like magic.
How to Build a Storage Crate
Building your first crate is super simple:
What You Need: 10x Ash Logs
Where to Place: Anywhere near your base (indoors or outdoors)
Storage Size: 2x8 grid = holds 16 items

These crates don’t just look cool—they keep your loot safe from despawning or vanishing if you die. Even if a goblin raid takes one out, your items just drop on the ground. Nothing lost... unless you forget to pick 'em up.
Need More Space? Here's What To Do
One crate not cutting it? Time to level up that Construction XP to 16. Doing so unlocks next-level storage options:
Small Chest – more capacity
Large Chest – even better
Weapon Rack – great for organizing gear

Just keep in mind: these upgraded containers need rare materials to craft, so don’t go spending your resources without a plan.
Moving Bases? Here’s the Trick
Storage Crates don't teleport on their own, sadly. So if you're relocating, you’ll need to transfer everything manually. Luckily, the Lodestone Teleporter makes the back-and-forth trips a breeze.
