Chasing Ghosts Mission Guide in STALKER 2
In Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, the Chasing Ghosts mission kicks off immediately after completing Hot on the Trail. Following a heated encounter between Faust and Strider, Strider urges you to intercept an important transmission by heading to Azimuth Station. This guide will walk you through the steps to retrieve the Azimuth Access Key, uncover the secrets of the station, and confront Foma at the tower’s peak.
Step 1: Retrieve the Azimuth Access Key from the Ward
Your first objective in Chasing Ghosts Mission is to reach Azimuth Station, southeast of Noontide Base.
- Head through Wild Island toward the southeast region.
- Cross the barge to intercept a distress signal from the Ward at the station.
- Look for a hole in the northwest wall of the Azimuth Station complex to enter safely.
Once inside, locate the building where the distress signal originated. Loot supplies from Ward bodies, then find the staircase outside the building. At the top of the stairs, you’ll discover a body holding the key needed to unlock the door below.
Chasing Ghosts Step 2: Locate the Surviving Wardens
Descend into the station’s basement by following the path and sliding down a ladder. At the first intersection:
- Turn right and follow the corridor until you encounter a door on the right, surrounded by bodies.
- Move through the door and continue looting as you encounter brainwashed enemies.
Combat Tips:
- Use doorways as cover and peek around corners to safely eliminate enemies.
- Once the area is clear, proceed through the next doorway and navigate the tunnel to your left.
At the tunnel’s end, fight off another group of enemies and search the final body for the Keycard. Use it to unlock a ladder leading out of the station.
Chasing Ghosts in STALKER 2 Step 3: Give Strider Access to Azimuth’s Systems
In the continuation of Chasing Ghosts Mission, Back outside, Foma will fire at you from the station’s tower. Avoid engaging directly and head toward the tower entrance.
- Save your game before entering the tower, as the interior is heavily rigged with traps.
- Disarm or carefully bypass the first tripwire inside the door.
Insert the Access Key into the card reader in the main room to give Strider control of the systems.
Step 4: Replace the Inductor and Confront Foma
Climb to the roof to replace the Inductor obtained earlier.
- Beware of multiple tripwires on the winding stairs. Disarm or avoid them cautiously.
- Equip a weapon, as Foma will fire at you near the top of the stairs.
Combat Tips:
- Use cover effectively during the fight with Foma.
- Once he’s down, climb to the top of the tower and confront him. Speak with the injured Foma to uncover more about his motives before ending his suffering.
Replace the Inductor and climb to the antenna outside the room. Flip the switch to listen to the intercepted transmission, revealing that Faust is behind the plot. The transmission also reveals the next location: Camp Icarus, marking the completion of In the continuation of Chasing Ghosts Mission, and the start of the Dead Frequency mission.
