Japan in Assassin’s Creed: Shadows is absolutely stunning—and massive. With such a huge open world to explore, having a mount isn’t just a luxury—it’s a game-changer. Let’s be real, running from one side of Omi to the other on foot gets old fast. Thankfully, you’re not stuck with the default horse forever.

If you're hunting for a legendary mount that’ll make your travels through feudal Japan way cooler, you're in for a treat. Let’s talk about how to get the Namazou Mount in Assassin’s Creed Shadows—one of the most unique mounts in the game.

🎮 What is the Namazou Mount?

The Namazou Mount is a Legendary Mount in Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, and it’s not your everyday steed. It’s got an awesome, unique look inspired by the Namazu—mythical catfish creatures from Japanese folklore. Even though it’s a purely cosmetic skin, it adds a ton of flair to your journey.

You’ll only be able to equip it after you’ve made it through the game’s prologue, so make sure you’ve progressed far enough into the main story before heading out to claim it.

Where to Find the Namazou Mount (Location)

to get the Namazou Mount in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you’ll need to head to Okishima Island, located on Lake Biwa in the Omi Province. Just look northwest of Azuchi on the map—you’ll spot the island as the largest landmass floating in the lake.

Once you're on Okishima, head toward the western edge of the island. You’ll see a bonfire with a few enemies loitering around it—take them out. Just beyond that campfire, there’s a side mission, but you’re not here for that.

Now for the sneaky part: head directly into the water in front of the bonfire and dive underwater. Immediately turn back toward the island and start swimming to the left, hugging the submerged terrain.

Eventually, you’ll spot the entrance to a hidden underwater cave. It can be tough to see, especially at night, so crank up your in-game brightness or go exploring during daylight hours for better visibility.

Once you’ve found the cave entrance, swim through it and just follow the path—it’s linear. At the end, you’ll discover a chest containing your shiny new Namazou Mount. Grab it, swim back to the surface, and open your mount menu to equip it anytime.

🔥 Bonus Tip: More Mounts Incoming

At launch, the Namazou is the only known Legendary Mount. But if you’ve picked up the Digital Deluxe, Collector's Edition, or have access via Ubisoft+, you can also score the Sekiryu Beast, another exclusive mount.
