How to GET MIMICRON in Borderlands 4?
Hey vault hunters! Today we're checking out how to GET MIMICRON in Borderlands 4, another awesome boss with some fantastic legendary drops. This guy hangs out in a tricky location, but I'll show you the best path to reach him and farm his sweet loot!
The easiest way to GET MIMICRON in Borderlands 4 is by starting from Why Cliffs Reprieve safe house. You'll need to have defeated the mutant boss first to unlock this area. From there, head out the back door and jump off the patio - if you don't have extended flight from completing vaults, just hop on your vehicle instead!
Reaching the Boss Location
Getting to MIMICRON can be a bit confusing, so here's the straightforward path:
Start from Wyclef's Reprieve safe house
Go through the back door and jump off the patio
Head to the member current door (first-time access requires a bio bulkhead item)
Follow the path: always choose left over right when possible
Navigate through the fan area and right-side door
Use wall jumps and floating to reach the elevator
Final jump over the counter to reach the boss arena
The first time you beat him, you'll unlock the Moxxi respawn machine right there in the arena. This makes farming so much easier - just grab ammo, use the machine, and jump right back into the fight!
MIMICRON Boss Strategy
When you're ready to GET MIMICRON in Borderlands 4, here's what you need to know about the fight:
Elemental Weaknesses:
First phase: Weak to shock damage
Second phase: Weak to corrosive damage
Use corresponding elements for maximum damage
Bring weapons with both shock and corrosive options
Combat Tips:
Keep moving to avoid his attacks
Use cover when available
Focus on critical hit spots
Watch for phase transitions to switch elements
I got incredibly lucky on my first run and got two of his three legendary drops! This proves he can definitely drop multiple items at once, so keep farming until you get all his gear.
MIMICRON Legendary Loot Drops
Now for the good stuff - what you get when you GET MIMICRON in Borderlands 4! He drops three awesome legendaries:
Rogue Luty Madlad
Manufacturer: Daedalus
Gold Text: "Homemade ingenuity - overheats quickly but also cools down quickly"
Red Text: "I've got lucky" (reference to popular content creator)
539 damage, 74% accuracy, 4.1 second reload
22 fire rate (insanely fast!), 34 shots to overheat
Boring gray appearance but fantastic fire rate
Works great with ammo regeneration builds
UAV Ordinance (Grenade)
DDI manufacturer with rainbow coloring
Gold Text: "Death from above" (Call of Duty reference)
Red Text: "His eyes in the sky"
12,992 damage (massive!), 650 radius
12 second cooldown, 3 charges
Deploys drones that fly around and target enemies
Delayed damage effect that marks areas first
Complex Root (Sniper)
Maliwan manufacturer (always two elements)
Gold Text: "Spawns additional diverging projectiles along its path"
Red Text: "The nucleus of every man-made invention of the day" (Dexter's Lab reference)
2,101 damage, decent reload time
1.2 fire rate, 13 round magazine
Splash damage with critical bonus
Projectiles split and seek additional targets
Weapon Performance and Recommendations
From my testing, the Mad Lad SMG has an amazing fire rate but terrible reload speed - perfect for builds with ammo regeneration. The UAV grenade is interesting but situational, while the Complex Root sniper is absolutely fantastic for elemental builds.
The Complex Root especially shines with any build that boosts elemental damage. The projectiles that split off and seek additional targets make it great for crowd control despite being a sniper rifle. It might not be quite as overpowered as it was in Borderlands 3, but it's still definitely worth farming for!
All three weapons have their uses, and it's worth farming MIMICRON multiple times to get different elemental variants. Happy hunting, and may the loot gods be ever in your favor.
