Complete guide to Get Mask of Truth in Ocarina of Time Remake
In Zelda Ocarina of Time Remake, there's a shop that sells all kinds of masks, but a lot of people wonder why these masks matter and what they're used for. Basically, buying all these masks eventually leads to getting the Mask of Truth. Today I'm gonna tell you how to Get Mask of Truth in Ocarina of Time Remake.

Why should we get the Mask of Truth?
Mask of Truth in Ocarina of Time gives you abilities that really help you later in the game:
- You can read the thoughts of characters in the game.
- Talk to Gossip Stones to get hidden info about the game.
- Your Deku Nut gets upgraded and its capacity goes from 30 to 40.
- You also unlock three masks: Gerudo Mask, Goron Mask, and Zora Mask.
Guide to buying and selling the masks

After the letter from Zelda arrives and you give it to the gate guard in Kakariko Village, he asks you to buy a mask for his kid in Castle Town—that's when the Happy Mask Shop opens for you. Here's how you buy and sell the masks in this shop:
| Mask | Buy Price | Buyer | Sell Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Keaton Mask | 10 | Kakariko Village guard | 15 |
| Skull Mask | 20 | Skull Kid in Lost Woods | 10 |
| Spooky Mask | 30 | Kid in Graveyard (day) | 50 |
| Bunny Hood | 50 | Running Man in Hyrule Field | 200 |
Note: Some masks you gotta sell at a loss, but for Get Mask of Truth in Ocarina of Time, you gotta do it anyway.
What's the order for selling the masks?
- For the Keaton Mask, go back to the Castle Town guard and sell it to him.
- Sell the Skull Mask to the Skull Kid. For this, enter Lost Woods and immediately turn left, and you'll find him there.

Note: You can upgrade the Skull Mask. First, finish Dodongo's Cavern and get the Bomb Bag, then grab the mask from the shop and go to Lost Woods to increase your Deku Stick capacity.
- To sell the Spooky Mask, go to the Graveyard during the day and give it to the kid in Kakariko Village.
- One of the trickiest parts of the masks is selling the Bunny Hood. You gotta give it to the Running Man who runs in Hyrule Field. He has spawn conditions—you need all three Spiritual Stones from Great Deku Tree, Dodongo's Cavern, and Inside Jabu-Jabu's Belly.
Note: Once you get the Bunny Hood, skeletons no longer appear at night, and when you hand it in, they come back.
Get Mask of Truth in Ocarina of Time and upgrading it
After you hand in the last mask, go back to the shop and now you can get the Mask of Truth in Ocarina of Time—for free, no payment needed. After that, put on the mask and go to Lost Woods. After entering, go right, left, right, left, and left again. You'll see a hole there—jump in to reach the Grotto. Now stand on the platform and talk to the Business Scrub to raise your Deku Nut capacity to 40.
Note: For the Skull Mask, you gotta take the same path to raise your Deku Stick capacity.
Now that you've gotten the Mask of Truth in Ocarina of Time, you can read people's thoughts or talk to Gossip Stones.
After getting the Mask of Truth, you unlock three cosmetic masks—Gerudo, Goron, and Zora—which don't do much besides talking to people.
Finally, I should say try to keep the order: first Keaton, then Skull, then Spooky, and then Bunny Hood. For more guides, check out the The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake guide page.
