Capturing ALL LEGENDARY POKEMON in Pokémon Legends Z-A!
The endgame of the latest title offers experienced trainers some of the franchise's most challenging and rewarding captures. Securing ALL LEGENDARY POKEMON in Pokémon Legends Z-A requires completing the main narrative and then tackling a series of highly specific post-game missions. Be warned: the following sections contain significant spoilers for the game’s late-stage content.

Unlocking the First Legendary Trio
Upon completing the main story quests, a set of supplemental quests will be unlocked. These quests are needed for acquiring the first three legendary Pokémon that fuel the region's mythology.
Yveltal and Xerneas's Locations
The quests of the two primary Legendary Pokémon are accessible immediately after the final story quest.

Xerneas (Fairy-type)
Mission Trigger: Begins after post-game Mission 40.
Location: Go to Wild Zone 11.
Capture Strategy: Within the grassy environment towards the lower-left part of the zone, search for an "Investigate" command. Xerneas will spawn at Level 75. Save your game prior and use strong Pokémon. Use the 'throw and hide' technique, utilizing a Quick Ball to start and additional Ultra Balls or Timer Balls if the fight lasts longer than expected.
Yveltal (Dark/Flying-type)
Where: Yveltal requires a difficult ascent to the rooftop's top level at the Lumiose Gallery (at Wild Zone 3 and Zone 20).
Climbing Route: The route is complex. You have to climb the scaffolding along the right side of the building, employ a series of glides and rolls to traverse rooftops, and then make it to the topmost point where the "Investigate" message shows up.
Capture Strategy: Yveltal also shows up at Level 75. As a Flying-type, employing proper type matchups to gently bring down its HP is essential prior to making the capture.

The Battle Zone Grind and Mega Floette
The most time-intensive requirement to reach the final legendary creature is related to the Infinity Royale challenge, which in itself has a 'Legendary' reward that one receives unexpectedly.
Finishing the Infinity Royale Challenge
To proceed, you need to first complete the main story Mission 39, which introduces you to the Battle Zone arena.
Objective: Win fifteen consecutive Battle Zone matches.
Progress Requirement: Matches can only be played at night. You need to get 50,000 points per round from found tickets and random challenge success (e.g., doing some moves, sneaking up on rivals). This is a heavy grind.
Final Battle: Your 15th battle will be against the trainer of Floette, who has the powerful Floette (Eternal Flower Forme).

After you complete this final battle, you complete the mission and receive the Mega Stone for Floette. This effectively gets Floette's specialty form to the level of a legend-tier for your group.
The Final Battle: Defeating Zygarde
Once you have defeated the first three and completed the Mega Floette mission, the last post-game mission, Mission 42, will be available, guiding you to the final battle with Zygarde.
Mission Trigger: Return to Hotel Z. An NPC cutscene will trigger Mission 42.
First Battle: The mission has the first battle versus a trainer, serving as a warm-up. Make sure you heal your Pokémon after every knockout to keep them at maximum effectiveness.
The final event of the mission is the boss fight against Zygarde in the Prism Tower. Zygarde is Level 84 and possesses a boss-like health bar.

| Weakness Type | Recommended Move/Pokémon | Key Advantage |
|---|---|---|
| Fairy | Mega Gardevoir (Fairy/Psychic) | Deals Super Effective damage and is resistant to attacks from Zygarde. |
| Ice | Strong Ice-type coverage move | High Super Effective damage multiplier. |
| Dragon | Mega Charizard Y (or good Dragon-type moves) | Works well, but not as strongly consistently as Fairy or Ice. |
Critical Warning: Player Damage
During combat with the boss, Zygarde has a highly dangerous attack where pulses come up out of the ground. It is worth avoiding continually as the player avatar, since this attack has been reported to knock out the player in a very short time frame.

Upon successful capture, you obtain the Zygarde Cube, where you can change its form:
Form Switching: Use the Zygarde Cube to change freely between its 10% and 50% Formes at will.
Complete Forme: Zygarde will transform to its Complete Forme automatically when its HP drops to half or less in a battle. In this state, it can undergo Mega Evolution and gain significant stat boosts.
With Zygarde added to your collection, you have officially secured ALL LEGENDARY POKEMON in Pokémon Legends Z-A that are available in the post-game narrative.
