How to Find and Defeat Miaoshan Assassin Tian Ying in Where Winds Meet
The endgame of the first region provides a serious challenge that is often overlooked—The battle to defeat Miaoshan Assassin Tian Ying in Where Winds Meet. This hidden fight deep within an elaborate dungeon requires not only skills in battle but also stage progression and puzzle-solving skills that require immense precision. For strategies against all of the game's challenging encounters, consult our guide to Defeating EVERY Boss.
The entire process, from entering the dungeon to landing the required blows in combat, has been painstakingly documented by us based upon successful runs prior to the capstone in level officially being lifted. This is a stepwise cumulative guide to fast-tracking your victory over one of the toughest early game bosses.

Prerequisites and Locating the Miaoshan Dungeon
Players must get two ways before facing the Miaoshan threat and get through an amazingness of a dungeon:

Securing the Tian Ying Jade Crystal (Phase 1 Boss)
Your journey to this will start near Heavens Pier in the middle of Region One.
Start Location: Teleport to the Front Mountain and rush toward the mansion marked on your map.
Dungeon Entry: Speak to the required NPC outside the mansion (for story progression) and enter the dungeon. Most non-essential enemies can be ignored to save time.
Navigation and Puzzle: Walk the rooms, using a lamp to destroy a barrier, and call the elevator, which goes down many levels. Be prepared for ambushes from assassins on the way down.
Final Chamber: Activate both spinning wheels near the elevator shaft to descend to the final level where the first boss awaits.
First Boss Fight: This opponent is quite slow; rely upon parrying to inflict damage and thereby reduce her health. Afterwards, claim the Jade Crystal from the Dragon's Breath, this is 100% required.
The Exploration Requirement
The final encounter with Tian Ying is locked behind an exploration metric:
Exploration Goal: You need to somehow push your Exploration Points in Region One up to 6,000.
Way: This is primarily achieved by completing all discoverable activities, including:
Collecting every landmark point (usually 50 points per mark).
Finishing outposts and completing discovery tasks.
Defeating all World Bosses (Tip: Open the map, click the region name, and scroll right to track undefeated bosses easily).

Accessing the Final Challenge
Once the 6,000 Exploration points and Crystal of Jade are secured, the last dungeon is opened:
Location: Travel to Sundial Raw Land—Halo Peak, right in the middle of the upper region.
Tower Ascent: Ascend to the tower room (by means of flying or precision jumping) and speak to the approved NPC/storyteller.
Crystal placement: Slot the Jade Crystal into the mechanism at the very top where at least you might have to change in-game time via the clock menu to the right hour so that the mechanism could be activated.
Final Descent: At the open bottom, pull the lever.

My Personal Experience: The Buddha Riddle
The subsequent area is beautifully designed but full of conundrums. After you have crossed the underpass, you'll be greeted with the statues that attack only after you've spoken to the old man. I quickly realized the challenge lies in not outputting damage but defense.
Statue Combat: You cannot hurt these statues. You can only deflect their attacks. If you struggle with manual deflection, consider utilizing the "Auto Deflect" option if available, as successful deflection causes them to die instantly.
Meridian Touch Puzzle: You need to rotate the Buddhas with the Meridian Touch skill so they shine lasers in the right direction. The middle Buddha should be turned left to charge the light beam to the next location.
Tactical Guide to Defeat Miaoshan Assassin Tian Ying in Where Winds Meet (Phases)
The boss fight has 3 separate phases, all different increasing in difficulty and requiring fast adaptation. Importantly, do not use healing potions during Phase 1. These will be required for the last two phases.
Phase 1: Ranged Control

Attacks: Tian Ying relies on slow ranged attacks that can easily be dodged and predicted: a golden energy wave, a staff slam that summons energy from above, and a wave blast concentrated.
Strategy: Just use any ranged attacks (the Umbrella or Bow) for passive damage. Once she initiates the wave blast, interrupt or deflect it with Meridian Touch (finger point) ability. This phase is easy and aims to test your ranged stamina.
Phase 2: Monk Style Melee

Attacks: Tian Ying becomes extremely aggressive: toe-to-toe with kicks, punching, and finally, a sweeping smash from a statue.
Strategy: This phase is a lot of patience:
Strategic stagger: Once she has completed her roundhouse kick, you will have just enough time for a quick attack string (e.g. X attack into Y) to double stagger her and deal damage over time.
Statue Smash: When she launches into a statue smash: The first hit can be dodged by creating distance. The second hit (statue slam) is blockable. At very far distances, the third hit may miss entirely.
Phase 3: Stealth and Parrying

Attacks: Tian Ying vanishes, reappears randomly for fast critical hits.
Strategy: This phase is the final exam for parrying.
You must perfectly parry her random attacks the moment she appears. If not, any auto-parry mechanic should be used as a matter of course.
Statue Clones: At the mid-phase, she summons three statues. Do not engage the copies; focus on parrying her random attacks—each successful deflection will eliminate one of the copies. It will solely be through relentless timing that Miaoshan Assassin Tian Ying may be slain on Where Winds Meet prime.
