The Return of Elder Dragon Gogmazios in Title Update 4

The main change in this update is the return of Elder Dragon Gogmazios, which was also shown in the trailer. Along with it, we’re seeing changes to the hunting team system.

All About Multiplayer Hunting

  1. The hunting team is a 4-Player Hunt.

  2. This 4-player team is supported by a team of 4 Support Hunters, making a full team of 8 players. According to the trailer, Nadia will be available as a support hunter for a limited time.

Personally, I've always enjoyed hunting in larger teams, and that's exactly what the developers have delivered in MONSTER HUNTER WILDS Title Update 4. Now we can hunt with an 8-player team, which should be really exciting.

Gogmazios gives us lots of new materials in the game, which we can use to upgrade our weapons and armor. There are also changes to the upgrade system:

Changes to Weapons

  1. After upgrading your weapon, you receive a Set Bonus Skill and a Group Skill, which are completely random.

  2. A new feature allows you to reroll bonuses that you've previously obtained. You can completely reset the bonuses you had before and roll for new ones.

  3. The good news is you can also perform this re-roll for Set and Group Skill Bonuses using materials.

Changes to Armor

  1. The Armor Transcendence system lets you upgrade your armor to a higher tier and adds an extra Decoration Slot to Rarity 5 and 6 armor.

  2. More good news: on Christmas Eve, December 24th, MONSTER HUNTER WILDS Title Update 4 will add Arch-Tempered Jin Dahaad as a Permanent Event Quest. Defeating it will reward you with the Gamma Armor Set.

Bug Fixes and Optimization

In MONSTER HUNTER WILDS Title Update 4, the developers plan to fix several issues, especially for the PC version. These changes include:

  1. Optimizations for CPU and GPU on all platforms.

  2. In January 2026, a special patch for PC will be released, adding new graphics and CPU settings.

  3. In February 2026, a final update will apply further optimizations and changes to reduce the load on the GPU.

Weapon and Skill Balance Changes

This update brings wide-ranging changes to weapons and skills:

  1. Weapons, especially Sword and Shield and Switch Axe, have been buffed and significantly strengthened.

  2. The Guard Up skill has also been greatly buffed. At level 3, its Damage Reduction has been increased from 30% to 80%. This could be a game-changing adjustment, perhaps hinting at the challenge we'll face against Gogmazios.

  3. The Flail skill has also received a major buff.

MONSTER HUNTER WILDS Roadmap for 2026

MONSTER HUNTER WILDS Title Update 4 is the last major content update for the game, but more updates will come in 2026. In February 2026, the final Arch-Tempered monster, Arch-Tempered Arkveld, along with new weapons, will be added. After that, the development team will likely focus on a new Expansion.

Considering everything above, MONSTER HUNTER WILDS Title Update 4 is a massive update in every aspect—from new monsters to system upgrades and optimizations. It’s definitely a great Christmas gift this year from Capcom.
