Borderlands 4 PATCH NOTES 10/02/25

This patch, the Borderlands 4 PATCH NOTES 10/02/25, is the first significant balance fix for high-end endgame content. The general philosophy remains the same: provide players with the tools and machinery to create their perfect Vault Hunter through synergistic combination of gear, firmware, skills, and specialization trees. This patch focuses almost exclusively on creating diversity and ideal performance for long-lost skills.
Vault Hunter Balance Adjustments
The team made focused adjustments to the entire roster in order to stay competitive late-game. Amon himself received a batch of changes in an attempt to have his summon and melee-tree builds more viable. Harlow and Rafa also received their changes so active players receive constant value.
Amon (The Beastmaster)

Amon's changes were focused on enhancing the damage scaling of his summons and the competitiveness of his melee-tree.
Scourge: Maximum Vengeance is increased by 50%, meaning it can take more damage and, as a result, deal more damage with Forge Web when consumed.
Forge Web: Damage is increased by an extremely high 37%.
Molten Rebuke: Damage is increased by an extremely high 86%.
Vengeance Blast: Damage is increased by 45%.
Storm Lances: Damage is increased by 52%.
Scorched Kairos: Now deals Ordnance Damage (a direct increase to output).
Vex (The Seer)

Vex received large buffs to his hazard and pet-based powers to make him more comparable to the other Vault Hunters' damage output.
Dread Knight: Hazard damage increased by 100%.
Phase Explosion: Damage increased by 16.6%.
Eldritch Blast: Damage increased by 19.5%.
Desecration: Hazard damage increased by 50%; Airborne Burst damage increased by 48%.
Rafa (The Operative)

Rafa's changes primarily enhance his base Action Skills and critical hit specialization.
Poblas Lance: Action Skill damage now boosted by 10%.
Capstone Skill (People Person): Projectile damage boosted by 10% of base weapon damage.
Gorgon: Damage now boosted by 17%.
Dash: Damage now boosted by 5%.
Handshake Deal: Melee damage per point now boosted to 9% (up from 7%).
Harlow (The Gunner)

Harlow enjoyed small but significant increases to the damage of her Action Skills, rounding out her area-of-effect presence.
Slam: Damage now boosted by 30%.
Stasis: Damage now boosted by 14.7%.
General Patches and Weekly Activities
This section outlines important technical patches and confirms the new roster of rotational endgame content.
Technical Improvements
Included auto-uninstall of Borderlands 4 for old shader caches on update, preventing graph degradation from even taking hold and improving PC performance.
The team is also experimenting with some Class Mods, Shields, and Firmware to ensure that they provide additional avenues toward build variation, and patching several unintended exploits which make it tough to have impactful balance changes.
To resolve most stutter issues after the update, players must visit the Vault of Incept, enter the space, and then leave the area immediately in order to cause a shader rebuild.
Weekly Endgame Rotations
Players will be required to have completed the main storyline and leveled up to enable Ultimate Levels to access these features.
Activity | Boss / Mission | Location | Details |
---|---|---|---|
Wild Card Mission | The Midas Touch | Nice big N/A | Modifiers: Tricky Deflector and Cold Hearted. |
Maurice's Black Market | Shoreline Safe House | Sundried Rise Save House (North West) | Grab the black market machine along the coast. Tip: Inventory is random for all; provide sufficient space in backpacks. |
Maxus's Big Encore | Driller Hole | Low Rise Save Station (South West) | The highlight of the week goes to Driller Hole. Having Iridium equipped on the Big Encore is a surefire way to get dedicated legendary drops, so at the moment, this is the best means of achieving a Shiny from this boss. |
