Pokémon Legends Z-A Story
Like I said, the story revolves around city redevelopment, an ancient battle, and Pokémon evolution. In this game, you'll meet a few main characters:
- Emma: She's a detective investigating rogue Mega Evolutions in wild Pokémon.
- Mabel: The head of a Pokémon research lab. She rewards you for completing the Pokédex.
- AZ: The most mysterious character in the game. He owns a hotel and is connected to a dark battle from three thousand years ago.
AZ took part in an ancient war where Pokémon were used as weapons. He built a machine to revive his Floette, but it accidentally turned into a destructive weapon, and because of that machine, he gained immortality. His story is directly connected to the events of Pokémon X and Y and Team Flare.
In the game, Team MZ, which you're part of, has its base in a hotel run by AZ.

At the start, you can choose one of three Pokémon: Chikorita, Totodile, or Torchic. But you won't spend the whole game with just them. There are different areas called Wild Zones where wild Pokémon live. In these areas, you can catch them using Poké Balls. Sometimes this happens without resistance, but when they fight back, that's when the battle starts. The rarer the Pokémon, the harder it is to catch.
You can find the rarest Pokémon under specific conditions and at specific times. You might walk through a path and see nothing, but if you go through it at night in the rain, a Pokémon might appear.

The biggest change we're seeing in this series is the battle system. Battles now happen in real-time. The moves you use have cooldowns, and they're all different lengths, so for a tough fight, you need strategy and good timing. During battles, Mega Orbs appear, and you gotta collect them. There are also night battles called Z-A Royale, which happen in Battle Zones at night. You start at Z rank and gotta work your way up to A rank. You can also raise your rank by earning Ticket Points from wins and bonus ticket missions.
