1. Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake Coming Soon

top 10 video game news

According to reports from Tom Henderson at Insider Gaming, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake will likely launch on December 16th. First announced years ago, the game seems headed for PS5 and we might see a new reveal at this year's The Game Awards.

2. PS5 Outsold the Switch 2 in Sales Race

A report from The Game Business states that despite a 15% drop in sales compared to last year (likely due to the PS5 price cut), PS5 managed to outsell the Switch 2 in the lead-up to Christmas. With nearly 90 million units sold, the PS5 is expected to hit 100 million by next year (likely before GTA 6 launches).

3. Death Stranding 2 Could Come to PC Sooner Than Expected

14 Death Stranding 2 Pro Tips

An ESRB rating suggests Death Stranding 2 may launch on PC earlier than we thought. Unlike typical PlayStation First-Party titles which usually come to PC two years later, if this game (owned by Kojima Productions) launches around Christmas, its console exclusivity would have lasted only about 6 months.

4. Destiny 3 is in Early Development

According to Colony Dix, a Destiny leaker and data miner, early work on Destiny 3 has begun. With Destiny player numbers at their lowest (despite a new Expansion launching this week), many players are waiting for big news from Bungie. Destiny 3 could be a key title for the PS6.

5. Cyberpunk 2077 Hits 35 Million Copies Sold

Cyberpunk 2077 has reached 35 million copies sold. Considering its rough launch nearly five years ago, constant updates and the excellent Phantom Liberty Expansion have turned it into one of the best Sci-Fi RPGs ever.

6. Mainframe Releases Free Starter Pack on PS Store

Studio Build a Rocket Boy has released a free Starter Pack for Mainframe on the PS Store. This pack includes a full Campaign mission and several Arcadia missions and challenges. It will be updated regularly.

7. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Producer Interested in Remaking MGS 4

Top New Games in August 2025 Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater

Noriaki Okamura, producer of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, said in an interview with Real Sound that they might work on another remake or create a brand new title. He personally hopes for a remake of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, though he admits the PS3 architecture makes it challenging.

8. The Game Awards Teasing Diablo 4 DLC Content

Geoff Keighley sparked speculation by posting a cryptic image with the caption "Inspiring Thickness" before The Game Awards. At first, many thought it was related to the rumored God of War Egypt project. However, a closer look at the demon-like figures, which resemble Blizzard's style, suggests this tease is likely for the next Diablo 4 DLC, Vessel of Hatred.

9. Major Gran Turismo 7 Update Coming

Gran Turismo 7 will receive a significant overhaul for PS4 and PS5 on December 4th. Alongside a paid expansion called Power Pack GP7 Specs 3, a free update will add two new tracks, eight new cars, Dunlop Tires, a higher Collector Level cap, unlimited Car Invitations, and improvements to Online Race sections.

10. New PS5 Model Doubled Console Sales in Japan

The launch of the new, cheaper PS5 model (Japan version) doubled the console's sales in Japan. In a two-to-three day sales period, 23,381 of the new PS5 Digital Edition units were sold in Japan, compared to 12,855 units the week before.
