After completing Cornered in the Catacombs in Dock Town, you’ll gain access to The Snake Nest Trial Quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. This quest challenges you to track down an important individual and earn faction points with the Shadow Dragons.
The Snake Nest Trial Starting Location
Begin in Dock Town's slum area, east of the Shadow Dragons’ Sanctum. Talk to the woman waiting there; she’ll task you with finding her husband. Follow the quest marker through the market and up a ladder heading east. Once you reach the investigation zone, look for bloodstains leading to another ladder. Climb up and continue following the trail, examining clues along the way. Eventually, you’ll reach a dead-end, so head back down the ladder and enter the building across the road. Check the books on the bar, then talk to the bartender.
If Neve is in your party, the bartender may feel more comfortable, so consider adding her if you haven’t. She’ll allow you access to the storage room across the street. Enter the building, interact with the bookcase to reveal a lever, and use it to unlock the elevator. Descend to the lowest level, jump down into the pit, and look for a wall you can break nearby. Slide down the slope to reach a dark and mysterious area.
Examine everything in this room, then hop over the concrete barrier to find a hidden chamber. Inside, you’ll discover what remains of Atticus. Open the chest to collect the power crystal. Use it in the summoning room to open the exit, making sure to carry the second crystal with you as you leave. Return to Sabrina to report your findings. Completing the quest will reward you with 100 Shadow Dragons Strength and a bond increase with your party members.
